Runflat tyres

Hometyre can supply and fit Runflats up to a 25" rim.  Many garages struggle to fit these tyres, but our vans are equipped with the latest tyre changing machinery, making the job far easier.  Don't let your alloys get damaged by inexperienced fitters, call in the professionals.

4x4 Tyres

Hometyre have access to a vast range of 4x4 tyres ; On road, Off road, 4WD, AWD.  Tyres fitted to 4x4 vehicles by the manufacturer are usually designed for 80% on road and 20% off road use. They provide driving comfort and good grip and are suitable for those who use their 4x4 vehicles predominantly for on-road travel.   The latest high performance vehicles such as the Porsche Cayanne, BMW X5, X3, X1 Audi Q7, Mercedes ML etc are usually fitted with UHP tyres, these are designed for 95% road use and are of little help off road. Locking wheel nut removals.

Have you lost or broken your locking wheel nut 'Key' (Adaptor), if you have then give hometyre a call.  All of our vans carry specialist tools that can remove most types of locking wheel nut, without causing any damage to your alloy wheels. Don't wait until you have a puncture before you call us out, as you could find yourself stuck far from home - unable to fit your spare wheel.

Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems - Valves (TPMS)

Some vehicles namely, Lexus, Chrysler, Peugeot, Ford, Skoda and BMW have some form of tyre pressure sensor, there are two types (Indirect as used by BMW which uses the ABS system. Or direct systems which use a special sensor valve.) Hometyre only deal with the direct sensor valve types.  These generally have a 5 to 7 year lifespan, at which point they fail to work and you get a warning light on your dash.  We can replace these with original manufacturer parts at prices that beat most main dealers.  From Late 2012 all new vehicles will have some form of pressure sensor fitted, and we have been informed that  they will become part of the MOT system.

Tyron Safety Bands.

Originally designed for military use, Tyron bands give your vehicle, limited runflat capability, allowing you drive to a place of safety before changing your tyres. Tyron bands are mainly fitted to towed vehicles like Caravans and Trailers, where the driver doesn't 'feel' that he has a puncture or blowout untill it is too late and the tyre comes off the rim causing considerable damage.  It is now being recommended that all vehicles have tyron bands fitted. ( They are already installed in police cars, ambulances and fire trucks).
