Using the Hometyre service
How it all works
If this is the first time you are using our service, then don't worry. It really is straightforward and you need only be prepared with a little information. We don't expect or require you to have extensive tyre knowledge. If however, you are totally unsure or would like to know more then take a couple of minutes to read through our safety and maintenance pages. We don't offer a menu style website. Our system is such that our Support staff are waiting to talk to you about the products you need. In real time and while you are talking to us we will check stock levels and requisition stock accordingly. When we make the booking for you, we will be as confident as possible that the tyres of your choice are available.
Booking an Appointment
Prior to giving us a call or emailing your details, we'll need you to have ready information on the tyre size(s) on your vehicle. This can be found on the sidewall of your tyres and is usually in large, raised numbers (view illustrated guide on left). The size is followed by the load index and the speed rating, which we may also require.
Note: Not all vehicles have the same size mounted on both axles and we have occasionally encountered incorrect sizes fitted - so it is wise to check all of the tyres individually.
Ordering your tyres
You may already know which brand of tyre that you wish to purchase. If so, we will be happy to quote you a price per tyre accordingly.
If you are not sure which brand would suit you best, allow us to ask a few questions in relation to your vehicle, mileage etc. and we will be happy to make a few suggestions based on your needs. The choice, of course, will always be yours and you should opt for the best tyre within your affordable budget. The price we quote will include VAT and fitting. We do not charge a call out fee.
Wheel balancing and a new tyre valve are fitted free with every new tyre supplied and fitted.
Due to the environmental difficulties caused by the disposal of the huge numbers of waste tyres every year, we are forced to charge a small fee for this service. Hometyre only use approved waste collection and disposal agents.
Your contact details
In order for us to process your order and confirm your booking we will need your name, the fitting address and a land-line telephone number (where applicable). Our service is tailored to suit your needs as much as possible. If you have a preferred date and time in mind, we will do our utmost to book you in for that time.
For receipting purposes, we will require your home or business address.
That's it!
All you need to do now is sit back and wait for us to arrive at your preferred address. Our technician will take care of you, your vehicle and any questions you may have. He/she will issue you with a receipt for your goods or services and take payment. We only accept credit & debit card payments. These are taken upon completion of all work and via secure mobile chip & Pin card readers. Any tyres removed from your vehicle will be taken from site for safe environmental disposal.
Note: Most vehicles equipped with alloy type wheels have a security device on one of the wheel studs or nuts of each wheel. If your vehicle has these fitted we would request that you locate the adaptor or 'key' (often a small nut shaped device) prior to our visiting. If you're not sure what you are looking for, feel free to give us a call for assistance.
